Yes, I create commissioned art!

I create portraits in reference to photographs, and I prefer to work from my own. If photography
can not be arranged, I prefer to work from a large variety of photos showing environment, different lighting, different poses
etc.

If you are writing a children's book or creating learning material, you need an artist!
I can create wonderful sketches, coloured pencil drawings or paintings to help you illustrate your story. Rates will
be based on study time, drawing and painting time, purchase of printing rights and royalty contracts.

Note that prices exclude framing, shipping, duty and taxes. I do not provide framing services, although
I can hire a framer for you.

Service Agreement
All of my commissioned original oil paintings are guarranteed for satisfaction for 1 year.
If there is something you don't like about your piece, I will modify it, create a new piece or refund your money. I
retain the old piece for exhibition and resale. Residents outside of Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry Counties are responsible
for the shipping.
Your original oil painting on stretched canvas is guarranteed for life against cracking
and fading if the piece is kept under normal conditions of light, humidity and temperature indoors in a
smoke-free environment. Please do not situate your art in a bathroom or a sunroom etc...I will repair the damage, create
a new piece or refund the original purchase price.
I offer no guarrantee against warping of board canvas. Therefore any cracks in the paint resulting after
1 year on this type of canvas is not covered by my guarrantee.
All paintings and prints are copyright to Rachel Bourgon. No piece
shall be reproduced in any way except with explicit written consent from the artist.
I retain the right to borrow original works of art for the production of prints in exchange for a small commission
to the owner. In this case, I will pay for 1/2 of the shipping outside of Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry.
Please allow 10 to 12 weeks for completion of commissioned art, longer
for special sizes. Delivery time may vary, depending on the type of service you have selected.
- 30% deposit required to initiate work. Deposit nonrefundable.
- Full payment required upon completion of the final piece. For delivery outside of SD&G, full payment
must be recieved prior to delivery, but not before you have seen evidence of the completed piece (via fax, e mail or regular
mail of a photo)

- Prices exclude tax, duty and shipping
- Most paintings are created in reference to photographs. Photography may be arranged within SD&G.
- Photos provided by the client are returned with the final piece.
- All pieces should receive a final coat of varnish NO SOONER than 6 months following the date of completion.
All pieces come with a thin clear coat to unify paint surface and protect against light scratches. You can make arrangements
with me for final varnishing if desired.
Shipping and Handling
Orders are processed upon receipt of payment. All shipping costs and taxes are extra. Orders shipped
within Ontario are shipped by regular mail, unless specified otherwise by the client. All shipping charges are to be
paid by the client. Gwendoline Artworks & Accents will contact you with an estimate of cost. Ontario residents
pay PST on all costs.
Canadian Residents outside Ontario will also receive shipments by regular mail unless specified otherwise
by the client. 15% HST shall be applied to those residents where applicable.
Gwendoline Artworks & Accents packages your art for shipping with great care. I send only art
that is in perfect condition. However, I am not responsible for any damage or loss resulting from shipping.
I therefore recommend shipping via courier with a tracking system and insurance. Many couriers do not insure art.
These services are more expensive than regular post, however. If you choose a courier, I will provide you with
an estimate of costs.
NOTE
US residents are responsible for all duties, brokerage fees and shipping charges. Generally, original
art is duty-free. Reproduced art has a duty of 6.6% ad valorem. If the art is valued
at greater than $2000.00, a brokerage fee of $30.00 CAD applies. Insured ground shipping for normal sized
parcels costs about $20.00 CAD in addition to the above costs. Many couriers do not insure art.
For US shipments, I use UPS 3 day Ground, unless otherwise requested by the client.
For US Customs purposes, I will require your Social Security Number and complete address to complete the necessary
Customs Commercial Invoice and NAFTA Forms (North American Free Trade Agreement).
For clients living just outside the Border (ie Massena, Ogdensburgh...), may I recommend personal pick-up of
art from my studio to save on shipping costs.
